Hugo Selenski in Luzerne County Court today

WILKES-BARRE – A Luzerne County judge will hear arguments this morning to determine where double-homicide suspect Hugo Selenski will be jailed while awaiting his trial.
Selenski, 33, has been jailed at the State Correctional Institution at Frackville where he is serving a two-year sentence for burning the bodies of Adeiye Keiler and Frank James.
The same jury cleared him of killing the two men after a two-week trial in March.
Selenski and Paul Weakley are now awaiting trial in the deaths of pharmacist Michael Kerkowski and his girlfriend, Tammy Fassett. The two went missing in May 2002.
Their bodies and the remains of Keiler, James and yet an unidentified person were found at the Kingston Township home where Selenski lived in June 2003.
Selenski’s lawyers, John Pike and Stephen Menn, want Selenski to be jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility so they can have easy access to him while they prepare for the upcoming trial.
Prosecutors want Selenski to remain at the state prison and are reluctant to have him jailed at the county jail because of witness safety and security.
Selenski escaped from the county jail in October by climbing down a rope of bedsheets. He surrendered to authorities three days after his escape.
