 Hugo vs Lupas Round 2!

(X-posted to my MySpace blog, http://www.myspace.com/pharmacister)

Get ready for more wasting of Luzerne County's taxpayer money by our wonderful and professional (gag, ick, you have to know I'm being overly sarcastic!!!) DA's office. You've gotta love all the money we have to fork over from our paychecks every week (or every other, however you're paid) that is going toward cases like this that is only based on circumstantial evidence.

The problem is that so many people that call this area home think they know Hugo and know he's guilty. Sure, you may not like him, maybe think he's arrogant or whatever, but that doesn't mean he's guilty. Did he confess to you? I don't think so. First of all, innocence until proven guilty- remember that? Nope, didn't think so, so shut up and keep repeating that until you get it and then apply it to Hugo. He wasn't proven guilty in the first case, and I doubt Lupas will accomplish anything different in this case.

And how long will it take until Hugo goes to trial? It took almost three years for the DA to get their act together for the first trial, so so help us if it takes another three! Three more years from a person's life, three years' worth of taxpayer money wasted on keeping someone behind bars with only circumstantial evidence to hold them. I'd love to see someone try to get a show like Law and Order to make this into an episode or something. And you know why, because they'd laugh and say that it's bullshit, too!

You may say you think Hugo shouldn't have said the things he did yesterday. I say, put yourself in his place. Feel the frustration he must feel being locked in a windowless room almost 24 hours a day for the past 3 or so years. No contact with family or friends other than a letter here or there, the only daily human contact with prison guards who just may hate you, and reading up on law books to prepare yourself for the fight of your life. Lupas is provoking Hugo, you and I both can see that. He wastes his time at press conferences whining about the attention Hugo receives because he's jealous the attention isn't being heaped on his amazing prosecutorial work (again, sarcasm, and maybe a new word coined!). If I was in Hugo's shoes, I wouldn't have even needed to be provoked to have a few words with the DA, but then again, if you know me, you know that about me!

Yeah, I'm pissed and you know it. You wanna talk about it, then comment or message me or email me or whatever. But if you just wanna hate on Hugo or my views then you can keep your negativity to yourself.

 how do you deal?

My grandmother's sister (or my great aunt, not sure which one would be easier to comprehend) isn't doing too well. She had a stroke 5 years ago and hasn't been the same ever since. She's in the hospital right now after suffering a heart attack and a second stroke and being diagnosed with heart failure. On top of that, she's refusing to eat and drink and the doctors don't think she's doing that well.

This would be the first death in the family I would be dealing with, but I'm more worried about my grandmother and my mom and my aunt since they are even closer to her. I hope it doesn't come to that, but I honestly don't know how to deal with something like this if it does happen.

Please keep her in your prayers if you're the praying type. If not, please think of her kindly and hope she's be ok. I'll be doing both...
